Rekovy ehf. is the company behind Bati. The company consists of three team members: Þórdís, Ágúst, and Leifur. The app has been developed in close collaboration with over 300 individuals in recovery, as well as all major treatment providers for alcohol and substance use disorders in Iceland.

We are passionate about using technology to improve people’s lives. The idea originated after Þórdís lost her cousin to substance abuse and became more familiar with the treatment system, initially through a school project. She was struck by the fact that people often leave treatment with nothing more than a paper plan in their hands. That’s why we created Bati — a digital companion that supports the entire recovery journey in one place and encourages you along the way. Recovery is a lifelong journey.
